Dario Russo, described by "La Repubblica" as “a sumptuous bass, with a
noble sound and a seamless vocal line,” has performed at major venues
including Teatro alla Scala, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Liceu in
Barcelona, Teatro Regio in Turin, Opera di Roma, Teatro Petruzzelli in
Bari, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and the Royal Opera House Muscat. He has
worked with conductors such as Fabio Luisi, Nello Santi, and Donato
Renzetti, and with stage directors including Robert Carsen, Laurent Pelly,
and Pier Luigi Pizzi. His repertoire includes Verdi roles (Attila,
Zaccaria, Banco, Ramfis, Padre Guardiano), bel canto roles (Enrico VIII,
Sir Giorgio, Conte Rodolfo), and Mozart roles (Don Basilio, Polibio). Also
active on the concert stage, he has recorded for Decca, Dynamic, Naxos,
and C-Major.
